TTT: Winter TBR

The delightful bloggers at The Broke and the Bookish host this weekly list challenge.  If you want to quadruple the size of your TBR AND find a bunch of great book blogs to follow head on over and check them out!

The topic this week is  Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

When I first saw that I thought--wait a minute, didn't we JUST do our fall TBR? And will my list look exactly the same?

However, I'm extremely proud to report that I've read six of the books I'd mentioned (Posted, Woof, A Gentleman in Moscow, They Both Die at the End, One Dark Throne, and Release), have started two others (Passionate Readers and a re-read of Refugee), one I never planned to read this fall even though it's been released (the illustrated HP, which will be a Christmas present to my daughter), leaving only ONE I haven't touched yet, Beyond the Bright Sea.

That emboldens me (is that a word?) to publicly state what books I hope to read this winter. Drum roll, please.

I brought home a shit-ton of books from NCTE, and obviously I hope to read several of them soon. Some that really caught my eye are:

American Girls

Allegedly

The Nowhere Girls

Disappeared

We Are Okay

Orphan Monster Spy

Dress Codes for Small Towns

Give Me Some Truth

Additionally, I still do want to read Beyond the Bright Sea, and Kwame Alexander's Solo as well.

It will be fun to look back in a few months and see if I actually got to any of these!

  1. I read Allegedly. It has such a surprising plot twist. We are OK was also a book I read this year but it wasn't one of my favorites. My TTT TBR Winter list

  2. I had the same thought about fall and winter lists. I had to go back and see how I stand for the year on attempted/completed and the results aren’t that pretty.

  3. From what I`ve heard, Allegedly is a very powerful book. The reviews are positive, I might pick it up in the near future.

  4. I was just about to mention the plot twist in Allegedly as well, Anne. I was a little taken aback by it as well, although I'd still recommend it.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!

  5. I hope you get a chance to read all these! Solo and Allegedly are on my TBR list, so I need to read those, too.

  6. Allegedly is the only one I've heard of so far. I love the title Dress Codes for Small Towns .....

  7. I have a lot of these (almost all) on my TBR. I am most likely to read The Nowhere Girls, because I have it. I really loved Dress Codes. The family and friendships were so wonderful, and I really loved the way Stevens explored the identity issues.

  8. Good luck! I find that I rarely stick to my seasonal TBR's that I plan. I am such a mood reader. I hope to read Allegedly at some point - I did get it as a Kindle deal so hopefully soon!

Have a great week. - Katie
