Take Action: Banned Book in South Carolina

I wrote a post early on about censorship in schools.  I have been unhappy with how my principal handled a parent complaint about a book last spring, and with how I caved to his decision.

Now, there's something similar going on in South Carolina, and a way to make a difference.  After one parent complained, a book has been removed from a list of CHOICES for summer reading for a ninth grade honors English class.

Here's a post explaining the situation.

And here's one blogger's idea for what we can do to help.

And here's the blog where I first heard about all of this.

I'm all fired up!  Join me!
